Interested in Volunteering?

Here is a brief outline of what tutoring involves:
- Volunteers must be 18 or older and have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Orientation: (about 1 hour) detailing the organization and the workshop. If you cannot attend a scheduled orientation contact us at 508-754-8056 to make an appointment.
- 18-hour workshop: Once trained, the tutor supplies LVGW with his/her available hours (2 hours, once per week) with which he/she can meet with a student.
- 1st student-tutor match: No set curriculum is provided. Each tutor/student work together to reach the student’s individual goals. The tutor must notify us monthly as to the number of hours they have met.
- Student-tutor meetings: Meetings occur at a public place such as the library (a quiet place without the distractions of home).
- After a 9-12 month commitment: If the student has reached his/her goals (or no longer requires tutoring) the tutor can be set up with another student if desired.
Tutors share the spirit of giving back to the community.
